plus 1 year times 1 million or more unforgettable moments

10.09.2010
My "Day"

Marked that date on the calendar. As the dates draw near, I can't help but feel nostalgic and excited; mixed emotions I should say. The day finally snailed its way silently. I celebrate another year of existence. It was any other day. The only exception was that a surprised was served to me on an early breakfast platter.

It is somewhat common us to walk through memory lane everytime we celebrate another year. This is to measure up how far we have reached or how high we have darted. But somehow these images are only brainworks until we see flatout evidences of our progress, or worst, our downfall. Riz, my fiance and the love of my life, cooked up a surprise over the past weeks to remind me of how the years of my existence was like. She stockpiled memories from people, who one way or the other, became a part of my life. People from the past and present went out of their way to sign in some of our fond memories with messages for me in my birthday book.

I can't help but laugh at the different sizes and off-colored images of me growing up. I feasted on the variety of flashbacks I get everytime a page is flipped. It was indeed a happy day. It was indeed a happy birthday.

I want to extend my super deepest gratitude to my highschool friends, teachers, college buds, random close friends and beloved family for sharing this surprise.

I want to congratulate Riz for carefully planning and conniving with those people in making this birthday book a success. Riz, your love, creativity and thoughtfulness have made this possible. I'm sorry for my shortcomings during the time you were percolating this surprise. I love you much. Thank you.

Another year has passed. Another year has been added to my age line. Many faces, places and experiences have been shared and as I scan through the pages of the book, I realized how far I have reached and at the same time, looked forward at the farthest I can still go. I realized that all the things that happened to me and all the things I have accomplished are possible because of the people who pushed me forward and helped me one way or the other. To those people (you know who you are), thank you.
